Product Description

"At one time, Sunbury, Pennsylvania was host to as many as forty trains a day, which stopped here at the Pennsylvania Railroad Station on North Third and Arch Streets. Among the many was the Pennsylvania K-4 Steam Locomotive, #1361. Built in 1872, the Pennsylvania Railroad Station served passengers on the first floor while the second floor was used for district offices. Sunbury's strategic location on the Susquehanna River and its proximity to the coal regions made it the ideal site for the railroad industry to flourish.

Homecoming recreates the splendor of the 1940's and is a tribute to Sunbury's rich history, in which the railroad industry played a great part. Intense research from the extensive Clarence Weaver Photo Collection helped to make this painting as historically accurate as possible."
